I should be doing my French and Art History work, but we just had our yard landscaped and I just had to do a fun project! I have always wanted to put a fairy door on our tree trunk! I can't wait to get it outside (pictures to come) Anyone else want one? They are painted and sealed to stay outside year round. I can customize the paint job. I can also look for some different door style.
This was fun and the possibilities are endless! Please let me know if you would like to place an order for Christmas. $20-$35 each.
Iam more than 1/2 finished with Geology and I am thankful that one assignment each chapter is a sketch! This has saved my sanity! It helps me think and gives me an great outlet during a very tough class! Art does salve most problems...My Dave say Math runs the world but I like art does! :-) Night night
I love this picture, the t-shirt is awesome, we saw Basquiat together at the Tivoli, (in 1996 wow such a long time ago! )
the drinking bird was an obsession, I remember finding one for Bob at Spicers, he was so happy and proud of that! Great work came out of that! The Painting below was around the same time...so vibrant and funny.
It has been a hard day. I said good bye to my mentor. I always loved art, and people said (ok my Dad) said I had talent. I fooled around with it. Bob showed me the process of creating art. The research, the passion, the obsession. He impacted my life!
I did love you Bob, I love the times we had. I was standing at your grave...I always knew this day would come and yes I am pissed that you are not here, I half expected you to jump out from behind a tree but sadly you did not...
This was our last exchange and as silly as facebook is, this is nice to have. I thank you for my design sense and helping me launch my career but most of all you have a place in my heart that has all the fun we had and has that great connection artist get to have, it is rare, it is profound! Thanks Bob, I really hope you and John are having Brandy Alexanders today! XOXO
This was for a very special young lady. Alex. I was playing with the mod-podge varnish. I am not sure... I like the shiny. I think it needs more play. I love how the black and white pop on this!
I am starting this new series, small 8 x 10 or smaller fun words, color and texture coming together.
I love how beatles quotes have you singing the rest of the song. Such brilliance John and Paul had strings simple words together that have such power! Taking orders if anyone has a quote they love, $35, fast turnover in the next 2 weeks.
So much happens in a day and nothing happens... I finished this gift, Right now I am going to start a new project! Let the brainstorming begin! I will do better to post the progress.
Painting, n.: The art of protecting flat surfaces from the weather, and exposing them to the critic. Ambrose Bierce
I am very very upset with myself for not blogging. It might have helped with the past weeks. My mom was in a horrible car accident. She is on the mend. My Father had a setback, he is feeling better and my precious Bogey hurt his leg. It has been a lot! Everyone is on the mend and getting stronger! That is all we can ask for.
Good news I have been accepted in to Arizona State University Art History program. I am thrilled! It is entirely online so I can DO THIS! I see the light at the end of the education tunnel!
I did this quick little hanging piece yesterday. Jury is still out on if I like it or not.
I will post more!
I will post more I will post more!!!!

I feel this some days but others ...how could you not have art, design....?
I have been busy, and have not written. I have not had a chance all week to get any work done. Saturday I just made myself...I woke up and decided to do it! I hope you like it. Please feel free to comment ! I want to know if anyone is out there :-)

I was back to work and school this week, and just didn't post. I will be living up to my self imposed goal of posting every day !
I did this W for my Dad for Christmas. It was fun and I really enjoyed the colors. I love the play of texture with the tight and loose quills. I am working on the getting the background and quills harmonized so that glue isn't showing and I am presenting a neater piece.

I love the Wizard of OZ, in fact I love all things magical and colorful. I love art, creating, admiring, looking at and doing! I have the full support of my wonderful family! My dog (Bogey) even stops playing and admires my paintings! My boys are wonderful. I am going to try and blog each day. New goal. I am a member of the North American Quilling Guild if you would like more information on quilling http://www.naqg.org
