I was back to work and school this week, and just didn't post. I will be living up to my self imposed goal of posting every day !

I did this W for my Dad for Christmas. It was fun and I really enjoyed the colors.
I love the play of texture with the tight and loose quills.
I am working on the getting the background and quills harmonized so that glue isn't showing and I am presenting a neater piece.

I am going to stop working on this piece. I like the shape it has formed. I like the colors. I could keep going but them it will be too much. I am letting this have air. Quilling is refreshing, and I literally have ideas to last me months and months. It is a richly creative medium for me.

I am back to work after a long spring break.
I am waiting for my fall plans to be settled and I should be doing math. Why can't I get motivated. I have finished everything else, laundry, cooking , cleaning etc...

Bogey was happy when I came home from work this morning :-) he is such a good loving creature! He is pure joy daily! We are very lucky that he made us a family!

Yayoi Kusama was once more famous than Andy Warhol. She left the pop art scene to move back to Japan and live permanently in a mental institution and create art all the time.  I love the colors and the fun she has with her art.

"...a polka-dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life, and also the form of the moon, which is calm. Round, soft, colorful, senseless and unknowing. Polka-dots become movement... Polka dots are a way to infinity." ~ Kusama

We are officially snowed in! I have cinnamon rolls baking and coffee and my favorite cream. I have this view out my kitchen. Life is good. I know it is a pain and I hope everyone stays safe. I just love being home and cozy with my family. We have college hoops and movies today!  Bogey gets to play in the snow! It is all good in this moment! Happy Sunday Funday!

I found some really cool slate squares and fun paper to shred (love my hand crank shredder) and punches a perfect circle and a paw I just had to buy the paw I don't know why but it was necessary :-)
I am sure bogey will get many uses out of it.
I used to love to walk around Borders. If I had a bad day, bored or just had that shopping bug. I loved being there. I also thought I would work there if I ever changed careers, I never would have thought they would close! I have found my new shopping sanctuary Hobby Lobby or Michaels, but not the small Michaels by my house, the big one in Chesterfield. I also want to try the new one in Des Peres. It is something about the possibilities that  in these stores. They are hopeful!

Woke up, on to the apple store, then Michaels then Sam's.
Busy day, I did get some fun paper at Michaels and a couple of other exciting things to come. Yes I did get a little work done. Hopefully I will get snowed in Sunday Monday and I know it is too much to ask but Tuesday would be nice also.

My week off work is ticking away. I need more homework done and more creative work completed. Does everyone put pressure on themselves to get their enjoyment done? Like if you really like to read do you feel the need to get so many chapters read a day? I find that I want things to be correct, when I am the person who is creating the image from nothing, for no one, why so many rules and pressures. It can be exhausting.

Tomorrow you will see these put together, any thoughts?

I am posting some samples of my paintings I am feeling the painting bug today I had a dream about an image last night. So I might be dragging out my easel today.

This painting is "letting go"  i have this above my desk. It is one of my favorites. My other favorite is "after rain"

I feel that I am working toward a combination of my painting and quilling. It is an idea that is rattling around my brain that hasn't completely formed yet.

I love the Wizard of OZ, in fact I love all things magical and colorful. I love art, creating, admiring, looking at and doing! I have the full support of my wonderful family! My dog (Bogey) even stops playing and admires my paintings! My boys are wonderful. I am going to try and blog each day. New goal.  I am a member of the North American Quilling Guild if you would like more information on quilling http://www.naqg.org
