I brought these cookies to game night. They were a hit! I didn't have any Milk Chocolate Chips so I added a broken up extra large Hershey bar and a box of Mild Duds.
Good Good cookies especially to take to a party.
Recipe: Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chip Pretzel Cookies
Makes 24 cookies
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup of tightly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1/2 cup broken up pretzel pieces
  • Preztel Salt or Sea Salt
Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a larger bowl, beat the butter and sugars together on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). On low speed, slowly add the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Beat to combine, scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  3. Add the flour mixture and beat just until there are no more streaks of flour. Stir in the chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and preztels. Cover and refrigerate for an hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop out well rounded tablespoonfuls of the dough and sprinkle with pretzel salt. Leave about 2 inches between each ball. Bake for 10 minutes. If you prefer crispier cookies increase the baking time by 1-2 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before removing.

Another St. Louis artist. Mary Engelbreit if you do not know her it is worth exploring.  A sample from her bio : An entire industry has grown up around Mary Engelbreit, but it all began with a young girl who just wanted to draw pictures.Mary moved into her first "studio," a hastily vacated linen closet in the St. Louis home where she grew up, when she was just 11 years old. "We jammed a desk and chair in there, and I'm sure it was 110 degrees," she remembers. "But I would happily sit in that closet for hours at a time and draw pictures."  http://www.maryengelbreit.com

I have always loved her work, and my favorite couch blanket has her cherries on it, it is very

For the next 5 days you will see my work I will hold myself to showing what I have accomplished each day!

St. Louis is an excellent place to live...if we only had a beach. We have a very active artist community. Once I am finished with school I will become engaged in all the fun activities and gather inspirations from artist like

The photo is form some student work. It was a fun journey, what a mess I made creating this..my kitchen was a disaster. It finally came together. Deadlines help!

"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our soul."
~Pablo Picasso

I hope to do that this week. I really want to accomplish something!

"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for."
~Georgia O'Keeffe

I think this is a lovely quote that expresses exactly what I do with my work.

Organized Life

The more organized I get the more I do not want to mess things up. So I am keeping the craft closet simple and easy to access. Maybe I should start taking bets as to how long it will look like this. I really am enjoying it! I like to open the door and just look at it. Silly I know. Having this in order means I can focus on the projects at hand and not let unfinished projects haunt me every time I need something. I have also spent less time at Hobby Lobby because I can find everything I need or want.

This is my pride and Joy Bogey! He is pure joy! Bogey and I live with Dave. We have a very happy little family.

Our favorite days are warm and sunny and spent at the dog park. Bogey loves to visit his people!

We enjoy traveling, beaches and Mr. Bogart loves to stay in hotels. He refuses to eat dog food in hotels.

We love to hang out on the couch together. We are binge TV watchers. Top 5 , Downton Abby, Son of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, West Wing, etc...

Please feel free to share your favorites just be cautious of spoilers! We record everything and catch up throughout the week. We try to never watch commercials. :-

What is good Art?
When it has its own internal logic. It took me a long time to get to this place, but that is the answer that I now give. I used to say that good art is like porn; you know it when you see it.

I may also make bigger mugs as ornaments to inc. If any one would like a set please let me know.  I honestly work with any budget plus shipping. If you have a Tea or coffee lover you are looking to give a special one of a kind gift to please contact me.
